Some things you just never expect to see in your neighborhood...
AKA one of these:
A Basement House.
That's right.
A house. In the ground.
Apparently these guys have quite a history in Utah. Their official names are Hope Houses.
In, or around, the 1960s, individuals who built these homes did so with the hope that one day they would have enough money to build the rest of the house.
Luckily many of these did but there are still a few here and there (think Springville) that have remained a
Hope House.
