I've been thinking lately of how I will put my baby to sleep when we're all the hours of the night.
With my love of Grooveshark I decided to put together a little playlist that would help calm her down.
Well, last night I stumbled across an album that is so beautiful that I had to share it.
It's called Baby Mine and it has the most beautiful songs...
My favorite of the moment is "My Darling" by Ryan Tanner, but they are all fabulous.
Stephanie Nielson from the Nie Nie Dialogues has a beautiful video of her and her youngest, Charlotte that uses "My Darling" in it. The love emanating from the video is so beautiful it makes me cry. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do...

Falling in Love...
I don't know about you, but I LOVE getting Free Music!
And Amazon MP3 has got to be one of my favorite places to get it from. Every now and then they will give you $2 credit to be purchased towards whatever songs you like (cool, huh!). Also they like to spotlight various upcoming and popular Artists by giving away one of their songs for free (I'm not talking some po-dunk song, but one of the band's most popular!).
So I thought I'd share the love and post the links to...
$2 credit to Amazon MP3
and Amazon MP3's Rising Stars of 2013.
You can thank me after you melt of happiness :)
P.S. I don't know about you but I think I'll spend my $2 on some more Black Prairie and Little Green Cars music. Their voices are AMAZING!! Don't believe me? Check out these videos:
Enjoy!

Baby Showers and a Christmas Playlist
I am a big fan of parties, small, big, it doesn't matter.
This last Saturday I had the opportunity to host a friend's Baby Shower. I decided to to give it a winter picnic theme...
The invites had a splash of plaid
(as did the party favors) and for the most part I just threw pinecones and candles around the room.

Aye Yai Yai
What's a blog for, if not to document your life, right?
So, in honor for there to be a record of what Mike and I did this past week, here are some tid + bits I maybe shoulda mentioned...
Cinco De Mayo Party at our cousin, Jordan's (that's Matt and I being napkin twinners).
Weeding and preparing the back yard for the Family Garden!
Second night of weeding and preparing the garden layout.
The Laker's game, because what would life be like with out them?!
The latest of my Country Streak, Alabama's "I'm in a hurry"!
Not pictured, but equally fun events:
Lazer tagging/mini golfing at Trafalga Thursday night and Comedy Sportz on Friday!
Well, that's my week. What did you do for fun?

Songs that pull at your heart strings
Everyone has one of two songs that are close to their heart, and may even be a tear-jerker.
For me those to songs are:
Family Portrait by Pink
When my parents divorced I was 12. Whenever my dad came to pick us kids up to go over to his house we would always listen to Pink. This song was always requested by me and my sister. I remember that as it was played I would sit staring out the car window crying.
I can only imagine what was going through my Dad's head as the song played on repeat.
I was not always as happy as I am now and this song is a reminder to me of how hard life can be as a kid.
and,
Storm by Lifehouse

I first heard this song while at a high school dance performance I was blown away both by the lyrics and the dance.
What are your heart-wrenching songs?

Christmas Time is Here
It's impossible not to feel optimistic during the Christmas Season!
The music, the lights, the general feeling of good will... It gives one a continual feeling of happiness and gratitude...
And let's face it, we have a LOT to be grateful for!
I don't want to get all mopey on here, but I want you to know that I am seriously grateful for all the ways Mike and I have been blessed (especially over the last couple of months)!
Sometimes I wonder just how much of our lives I should share on this blog and while I would like to just spill my guts and lay it all out there, I'm nervous...
I don't like to share intimate details of my life with people outside of my immediate family (aka Mike), but on the other hand I wonder, if I don't write them down now... will I ever?
So starting next week I'm going to start writing down all the little things.
My thoughts, my feelings, small expressions of my heart... Because I want something to look back on, a documentation of how my life was when Mike and I were first married and struggling to make ends meet. That way when times get tough, I can remember how blessed we always are and be able to share my experiences with others (especially my future kids).
So please bare with me... For I'll be opening up my heart to you.
Now, I would like to share a playlist that one of my best friends compiled (I may have added one or two songs) that helps get me into the Christmas Spirit!
